5 Minutes With… Jessica Street of TittyTees Breastfeeding Apparel

As a mother of two who spends most of her time outdoors, Jessica Street wanted to create a brand that provided women with protection from the sun, without losing style and a sense of individuality while on their breastfeeding journey. Established in 2024, whether you’re working in the yard, heading to a Rodeo, or looking for that classic tee – TittyTees Breastfeeding Apparel has you covered, literally!

Tell us about yourself and TittyTees Breastfeeding Apparel.

After having my daughter Makenna, I wanted to feel like myself again, not like I was stuck wearing maternity clothes long after giving birth. Living in North Queensland, I struggled to find shirts that were comfortable, stylish, offered sun protection, and made breastfeeding easy without making it obvious. When I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I decided to create it.

I established TittyTees Breastfeeding Apparel in 2024 and, since launching, the response from mums has been incredible. So many tell us they love being able to breastfeed confidently and comfortably without feeling like they’re “wearing a nursing shirt.” That feeling of freedom and normalcy is exactly what we’re passionate about delivering.

I’m proud that our shirts are made for mums who don’t want to compromise. They’re breathable, functional, stylish, and built to last — whether you’re mustering cattle, chasing toddlers, or grabbing a coffee with friends, TittyTees are made to move with you through all of life’s moments.

What has been the most challenging aspect of owning TittyTees?

The most challenging aspect of being a business owner has been juggling the demands of TittyTees with family life. As a mum, partner, and business owner, balancing time for my kids, partner, and business can be overwhelming.

There’s always something that needs attention — from designing new products to managing stock and staying connected with customers.

At times, it feels like there’s never enough hours in the day. But the rewards of seeing mums feel confident and empowered in our shirts make it all worth it. It’s a constant learning curve, but one I’m proud to navigate.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

A fun fact about me is that I’m a Townsville-born-and-bred local and live on a property in North Queensland with my family, which includes not only my partner Pat, and our kids but also two crazy dogs, a pony named Muffin, and a small mob of cows! Life on the land is never dull, and it plays a huge role in shaping the designs I create at TittyTees.

What is the best piece of career or business advice you have ever received?

The best piece of career/business advice I ever received was to just go for it and accept that you’re never 100% ready. It’s okay to learn along the way. When I started TittyTees, I didn’t have all the answers, but I took the leap anyway.

There’s always something new to learn, and embracing that growth mindset has been key. Progress happens when you take action, even if it’s imperfect. It’s about trusting yourself and your journey.

Going forward, what is next on the cards for TittyTees?

I’m excited to continue growing TittyTees, connecting with more mums, and offering them wardrobe options that support them throughout their breastfeeding journey and beyond. The goal is to build a community where mums feel empowered and confident every day. By reaching more mums, I want to bring them an Aussie family-owned brand they can trust and feel proud to support. I’m passionate about offering them practical, stylish clothing that helps them embrace motherhood with confidence.
