The Right Ingredients for Real Success

Jools and Errol Munro of Ray White Munro & Co

Jools Munro enjoys a successful career in real estate and is highly regarded by her staff, clients and industry peers, but she wants aspiring agents or those looking for a career change to know that it wasn’t always that way, and with the right attitude and support, others can also enjoy this rewarding career and lifestyle.

“I barely passed high school, flunked out of university, and joined the coppers at age 17, where I stayed for 23 years,” she laughs.

“Prior to entering the real estate market nine years ago, I had formed an opinion of the classic Real Estate Agent: posh car driver, always dramatically on their mobile phones, sitting in coffee shops and getting paid lots of dollars for not a lot of work!”

Now working alongside her husband Errol and a dedicated team at Ray White Townsville, Jools is keen to share her love of the industry with others.

“I want to shout it from the roof tops that this industry does not require a tertiary degree or the best academic results,” she says.

With over 80% of residential sales agents leaving the industry within their first 18 months, Jools and Errol set up a business model to support new and experienced agents to help them achieve success in their career and to ensure clients receive the best possible service every time.

“We have hired more experienced support personnel to ensure our Sales Agents and Portfolio Managers can achieve their goals,” she says.

“All best practises within the industry are shared with all our sales professionals, and we always ensure new employees are well supported so we’re not sending them out underprepared.

“We have an open database to ensure our sellers get every buyer, and we have limited our rental portfolio managers to overseeing 90 properties to ensure they have adequate time to conduct through inspections and communicate with landlords and tenants.

“Real estate can offer a fun and rewarding career as part of a well-balanced lifestyle when you work alongside other committed and supportive professionals.

“I’m always open for a chat and coffee for anyone who would like to know more about working in real estate.”
