At their 141st Annual General Meeting this evening, Townsville Chamber of Commerce announced the appointments of Miranda Mears as incoming President, Kevin Booth as incoming Deputy President, and their new CEO, well-known Marketing Consultant and Coach Heidi Turner.
Townsville Chamber of Commerce President Miranda Mears enthusiastically announced the appointment to members at the AGM.
“After an extensive search, we have appointed a new CEO who matches my passion and vision for the role that the Chamber plays in maximising opportunities for our business community.
“Many of you know Heidi Turner, she is well-connected and has operated a marketing business in our region for over 14 years. She has consulted, coached, and advised hundreds of organisations during that time helping them to elevate their marketing communications and is well known for hosting innovative events that bring people together.
“It’s with great enthusiasm that I look forward to forging a collaborative partnership with Heidi and the entire board ensuring that together, we steer our Chamber towards greater heights and achievements for the benefit of all members.
“We will advocate relentlessly for our members, address challenges head-on, and collaborate with all levels of government. Together, we’ll harness the immense potential our region holds, laying the groundwork for a future brimming with opportunities for future generations,” says Miranda.
Heidi highlighted her alignment with the priorities of the board.
“I’m honoured to have been entrusted with this pivotal role at such a pivotal time for our region. It is very clear from our initial discussions that the Chamber President, Deputy President, board, and I align on the priorities, challenges, and opportunities for the chamber and our wider region.
“Having worked closely with the Townsville Chamber of Commerce in the past, I know that it is as relevant now as it has ever been in its 141-year history, connecting, informing, and listening to the needs of members to be an effective impartial voice of our members from the business community.
“I look forward to commencing shortly and building on the success of so many who have come before me,” says Heidi.
Miranda, Kevin and Heidi will begin their duties as President, Deputy President and CEO respectively, effective immediately.
