Do you have a plan for conflict?
Â
Do you have to rely on other people to get the job done? Or interact with clients, colleagues, and manage business relationships that rely on effective working interactions? Anticipating that there will be times when ideas clash, people want to use resources in different ways, budget allocations require tough decisions, or project proposals are rejected after significant investment of time, energy, and emotion – what is your plan for when conflict occurs?
Â
There are many scenarios in interpersonal, workplace, and family life conflicts that could benefit from a ‘conflict prevention’ plan. Once a conflict has arisen, many workplaces and interpersonal conflicts may not be resolved quickly, completely, or even at all. Those scenarios could benefit from a ‘conflict engagement’ plan.
Â
Based on conflict engagement principles and theories, this presentation will discuss tools and techniques to assist in ‘conflict planning’ and options for ‘engaging effectively with conflict’ overtime and in a sustainable and constructive way.
Join us for this breakfast event, presented by conflict specialist Claire Holland, Director of the Conflict Management and Resolution Program at JCU.
