First sod of soil to be turned on Breakwater hotel project
Construction has begun on an $80 million luxury hotel project on vacant land adjacent to The Ville, which is due to be completed in mid 2023. The hotel will feature 132 hotel rooms, and take advantage of the panoramic views of Magnetic Island and Castle Hill. The Ville’s Chief Executive Officer Michael Jones says it was a significant day for both The Ville and Townsville to see ground broken on the $80 million project. “This is exciting for us and the Townsville community as this project will not only help stimulate the local economy but also put North Queensland on the map as a luxury travel destination.”
