5 Minutes With… Bec Beutel of Virtual Vibrance

Virtual Vibrance owner and founder Bec Beutel is transforming the way mental health professionals run their private practices. From streamlining operations to scaling with confidence, she’s on a mission to help therapists build sustainable, thriving businesses—without the overwhelm.

Tell us about yourself and Virtual Vibrance.

I’m Bec, the founder of Virtual Vibrance. I grew up in the Burdekin and moved to Townsville in 2017 to pursue a career in travel. After the pandemic disrupted my travel career, I started Virtual Vibrance, which is now a multi-6-figure business dedicated to helping mental health professionals streamline, grow, and scale their private practices.

What started as a way to support small businesses has now evolved into a thriving business that has helped over 80 mental health professionals build sustainable, life-first practices. I’ve faced the challenges of growth, scaling, and sustainability myself, which allows me to bring a transparent, supportive, and practical approach to my work.

Virtual Vibrance is a one-stop shop for mental health professionals at all stages of their private practice journey. Whether you’re transitioning into private practice, growing your team, or expanding beyond 1:1 client sessions, I offer tailored solutions to meet your needs. My services include done-for-you admin and practice management support, 1:1 coaching and consulting, website and branding design, and social media management—all specifically designed for mental health professionals.

One of the biggest challenges I see is that mental health professionals are experts in their field—but their expertise doesn’t necessarily include business.

Private practice requires more than clinical skills; it requires thinking and acting like a business owner, which can feel daunting for many. That’s why a core part of my work is supporting therapists to transition into, grow, and expand their practices with a strong business foundation. I help my clients develop the mindset, strategy, and systems they need to run a sustainable, successful business—without burnout.

In addition to hands-on support, I provide training and digital resources to help therapists feel more confident and in control of their business. My Private Practice Series guides clinicians through key phases of business growth, from launching a practice to scaling and expanding. I also offer practical tools like content prompts, social media audits, and workbooks to simplify marketing and operations.

What has been the most challenging aspect of owning Virtual Vibrance?

One of the most challenging aspects of being a business owner has been navigating unexpected changes, particularly the recent legislation changes around employees, which forced me to scale back. At the time, it felt like a major contraction — a step backward after so much growth. Having built Virtual Vibrance into a thriving multi-6-figure business, adjusting to a smaller team and restructuring my offers felt like a setback.

However, through this challenge, I gained clarity, resilience, and a renewed vision for my business. What initially felt like a downturn has actually been incredibly expansive. It pushed me to refine my services, focus on sustainability, and strengthen the core foundation of Virtual Vibrance. I now see this shift as an opportunity to create a more aligned, scalable business model that supports both my clients and my long-term vision.

This experience has reinforced one of the biggest lessons in business—growth isn’t always about scaling up. Sometimes, pulling back creates space for something even bigger.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I love to travel and have been to 8 countries so far – with many more on the list. If I wasn’t running Virtual Vibrance, I’d probably be off exploring the world. Although, thanks to the business model I have set up, I have the ability to work from anywhere, so you might see me working from a holiday destination very soon.

I also have a knack for problem-solving and efficiency – I genuinely love finding ways to make things run smoother and simpler!

What is the best piece of career or business advice you have ever received?

The best business advice I’ve ever received is “Under-promise and over-deliver.” I live by this in business because I believe that trust and reliability are everything. My goal is always to exceed expectations, whether it’s through exceptional service, attention to detail, or making my clients’ lives easier. Building a strong reputation isn’t about flashy promises—it’s about consistently showing up, delivering high-quality work, and adding value in ways that people don’t expect. That’s how you create long-term success and lasting client relationships.

Going forward, what is next on the cards for Virtual Vibrance?

Going forward, my focus is on expanding Virtual Vibrance beyond 1:1 services to create an even bigger impact for mental health professionals. While I love working closely with my clients, I know that the need for business support, strategy, and education in the mental health space is far greater than what I can provide on a one-to-one basis.

That’s why I’m shifting towards scalable offerings—including online trainings, digital products, and group programs—so that more therapists, psychologists, social workers, and counsellors can access the tools and strategies they need to transition, grow, and expand their private practices with confidence. My goal is to make business education for mental health professionals more accessible, empowering them to not only serve their clients but also build sustainable, thriving practices.

Virtual Vibrance is evolving into a hub of resources, mentorship, and support for mental health professionals at every stage of their business journey. This next phase is all about impact—helping more professionals step into their role as business owners and create a practice that truly supports their life and mission.
